Tuition Fees 

As the United Kingdom is made up of four countries of England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland, the fees for students depend on where you study, the course, and the university you would want to study. Studying in the UK is cheaper when compared to Australia or the US.


Overseas students will incur an expenditure of between £10,000 and £25,000 per year to live and study in the UK. A normal undergraduate degree course in the UK will be three years long, while professional courses, like engineering and medicine, will last longer, and master’s degrees last from one to two years.

In addition, to be eligible to study in the UK, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You need to be aged 18 

  • Foreign students wanting to pursue a full-time course in an undergraduate or postgraduate program at an accredited university on a student visa can work part-time for up to 20 hours a week when the academic session is taking place and full-time during holidays.  

  • Each educational institution has distinct semesters during the course of the academic year.

International students can enter the UK on a Tier 4 visa in case they are opting for a full study program. However, students who are studying English or other training courses are eligible to apply for a short-term study visa.

Points-based system

The UK study visa is issued under a points-based system. You will get a visa provided you have the required points. You will have to provide certain information and documents to get the required points.

Uk tier 4 student visa requirements:

  • A valid passport
  • Proof that you have enough funds to cover the living costs during your course
  • CAS reference number – Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies
  • Documents used for obtaining the CAS
  • Color passport size photos
  • Any additional requirements prescribed by your university
  • Required scores in the qualifying tests for admission and English proficiency tests
  • Offer letter from a UK employer who has a license to sponsor from the Home Office
  • Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS)
  • Passport with a validity of 12 months
  • Documents in support of your educational qualifications
  • Documents to prove English language proficiency
  • Proof of having the required maintenance funds which is 1,270 pounds
  • Visa holders can bring dependents on the visa
  • Spouse is allowed to work on the visa
  • No cap on the number of people who can move to the UK on the visa
  • Minimum salary requirement has been reduced to £25600 from threshold of £30000
  • Fast Track Visas will be provided for healthcare professionals like doctors and nurses
