Hong Kong visit visa: PAR for Indians
For most short trips, Indian travellers do not need a full visa for Hong Kong. You can visit visa-free for up to 14 days per visit, but only after completing a free online Pre-arrival Registration, known as PAR, before you fly. A full visit visa is needed only for stays over 14 days or for non-visit purposes. Hong Kong is separate from mainland China, so a China visa does not apply.

What you need to visit Hong Kong

A full visit visa or entry permit is needed only if you intend to stay longer than 14 days, if your purpose is something other than a visit, such as employment, study, or residence, or if your Pre-arrival Registration cannot be completed. One more point matters: Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region with its own immigration system, separate from mainland China, so a Chinese visa does not let you enter Hong Kong. How free Pre-arrival Registration works

Open the official service
Use only the official Immigration Department PAR service on immd.gov.hk or gov.hk. It is free, so avoid any third-party site that charges a fee.
Enter details exactly
Fill the online form with your name and passport details exactly as printed on your Indian passport. Any mismatch makes the registration invalid.
Read the instant result
Submit the form and read the result, which appears at once on screen. A successful result lets you continue to the slip.
Print and sign the slip
Print the Notification Slip on plain A4 white paper, sign it, and keep a saved copy. Check every detail against your passport.
Carry both documents
At check-in and on arrival, carry the printed signed slip with the same passport used to register. Without both, boarding and entry can be refused.
Re-register if details change
If you renew or replace your passport, or your details change, you must register again on the new passport before your next trip.
