    PH Philippines visit visa

Philippines visit visa: visa-free for Indians

Since 8 June 2025, Indian tourists can enter the Philippines visa-free for 14 days, and for 30 days if you hold a valid US, UK, Schengen, Australian, Canadian, Japanese, or Singapore visa or residence permit. For a longer trip there is the 9(a) e-Visa, up to 59 days. Every traveller also registers free on eTravel before arrival.

Data current as of June 2026

What you need to visit the Philippines

The Philippines became much easier for Indian travellers in 2025. For a short trip you often do not need a visa at all, and how long you can stay visa-free depends on one simple question: do you already hold a visa from certain countries?

Under the policy effective from 8 June 2025, Indian nationals can enter the Philippines visa-free for a non-extendible 14 days for tourism or business. If you hold a valid and current American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore, or United Kingdom visa or residence permit, together known as the AJACSSUK group, you can enter visa-free for 30 days for tourism instead. Both are granted at any port of entry and cannot be extended or converted.

For a stay longer than your visa-free days, or for other purposes, you apply for the 9(a) Temporary Visitor e-Visa online before you travel, which allows up to 59 days. One requirement applies to everyone, whichever route you use: you must register on the free eTravel system before arrival. This page is a full guide: the two visa-free tiers, the AJACSSUK rule, the eTravel step, the 9(a) e-Visa, the fees, the documents, and the process.

    PH The 30-day boost

Do you hold one of these visas?

This is the key question for Indian travellers. If you already hold a valid visa or residence permit from any one of these seven, your visa-free stay doubles from 14 to 30 days.

    The AJACSSUK group

A valid and current visa or residence permit from any one of these opens up 30-day visa-free entry for tourism:

    United States
    United Kingdom
    Schengen
    Australia
    Canada
    Japan
    Singapore

The visa or permit must be valid when you travel. A Schengen visa from any Schengen member state qualifies. If it has expired, you use the 14-day entry or apply for the 9(a) e-Visa.

Source: Philippine Embassy in New Delhi (newdelhipe.dfa.gov.ph) and the Philippine eVisa portal (evisa.gov.ph), current for 2026. Indian nationals holding a valid and current American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore, or United Kingdom visa or residence permit may enter visa-free for a non-extendible 30 days for tourism, on a passport valid six months beyond the stay and with a return or onward ticket. Rules can change, so confirm before you travel.

    Philippines visit dos and donts

Visa-free travel is easy, but a few simple mistakes still cause problems at the airport. These dos and donts keep your arrival smooth.

    Do the right things

    • Confirm your tier before you book.
    • Register free on eTravel within 72 hours of arrival.
    • Carry your AJACSSUK visa if using the 30-day entry.
    • Carry a confirmed return ticket and hotel booking.
    • Keep your passport valid 6 months beyond your stay.
    • Apply for the e-Visa early if you need a longer stay.

    Do not do these

    • Do not skip eTravel or use fake eTravel apps.
    • Do not rely on an expired AJACSSUK visa for 30 days.
    • Do not expect to extend a visa-free stay.
    • Do not travel without a return or onward ticket.
    • Do not work on a visit visa.
    • Do not assume there is a visa on arrival.

Source: Philippine Embassy in New Delhi (newdelhipe.dfa.gov.ph) and the eTravel portal (etravel.gov.ph), current for 2026. eTravel is mandatory and free, the AJACSSUK visa must be valid for the 30-day entry, and the visa-free entries cannot be extended. There is no visa on arrival for Indians. Working on a visit is not allowed. Rules can change, so confirm current details.

What you can and cannot do

A visit, visa-free or on the 9(a) e-Visa, lets you do plenty as a tourist or short business visitor, within clear limits. Here is what is and is not allowed.

    You can

    • Relax on the beaches of Boracay and Palawan.
    • Island-hop around Cebu and Bohol.
    • Explore Manila’s history and Intramuros.
    • See the Chocolate Hills and El Nido.
    • Attend meetings on a business visit.
    • Visit family and friends.

    You cannot

    • Take up paid employment in the Philippines.
    • Study a long program on a visit.
    • Extend a visa-free stay in country.
    • Convert visa-free entry to another status.
    • Enter without eTravel registration.

For work you need a 9(g) work visa, and study needs a student visa, both arranged in advance. We explain the rules and the right path for your plans.

Source: Philippine eVisa portal (evisa.gov.ph) and the Bureau of Immigration, current for 2026. A visit, whether visa-free or on the 9(a) e-Visa, is for tourism and short business only and does not allow paid work, which needs a 9(g) work visa. Visa-free entries are non-extendible and non-convertible. Rules can change, so confirm current details before you rely on them.

    Stay, extension, and the rules

A visit is a short stay, and the visa-free entries cannot be extended. This table explains the stay, extension, and entry rules for Indian travellers.

Philippines visit stay and rules, 2026 snapshot
    Item Detail Notes
    14-day visa-free 14 days Non-extendible, non-convertible
    30-day visa-free 30 days With a valid AJACSSUK visa, non-extendible
9(a) e-Visa Up to 59 days Single or multiple entry
Extension Not on these routes Apply in advance for a longer visa
eTravel Always required Free, within 72 hours before arrival

Source: Philippine Embassy in New Delhi (newdelhipe.dfa.gov.ph) and the eVisa portal (evisa.gov.ph), current for 2026. The 14-day and 30-day visa-free entries are non-extendible and non-convertible, and the 9(a) e-Visa, up to 59 days, is non-extendable and non-convertible locally, so longer stays need a visa arranged in advance through a Philippine Embassy. eTravel is always required. Rules can change, so confirm before you travel.

The visit routes are for short stays, not for settling. If you want to work, study, or stay longer, a separate visa is needed. We explain the rules and the right path for your plans.

What officers look for at the border

Visa-free entry is easy, but an officer at the airport still decides whether to admit you. Arriving with the right documents for your route, and eTravel done, is what keeps it smooth.

Common reasons for being refused entry include a passport with less than six months validity, no confirmed return or onward ticket, no hotel booking or proof of funds on the 14-day entry, an expired AJACSSUK visa when relying on the 30-day entry, no eTravel registration, or a derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration. Intending to work on a visit is another reason. Many issues can be avoided with the right preparation.

Indians can visit the Philippines visa-free for 14 days, or 30 days with a valid US, UK, Schengen, Australian, Canadian, Japanese, or Singapore visa or residence permit, under the policy from 8 June 2025. For a longer trip the 9(a) e-Visa allows up to 59 days, applied for online. The visa-free entries are non-extendible and non-convertible, every traveller must register free on eTravel before arrival, there is no visa on arrival, and an officer still decides entry.

Factual overview, verified against the Philippine Embassy in New Delhi (newdelhipe.dfa.gov.ph), the Philippine eVisa portal (evisa.gov.ph), and the eTravel portal (etravel.gov.ph), current as of June 2026. The visa-free privileges, the AJACSSUK rule, fees, and stay periods are set by the Philippine authorities and can change at any time. Entry is decided by an immigration officer.

Meeting the requirements keeps your arrival smooth, but the final decision rests with the Philippine authorities and the officer at the checkpoint. We give you a realistic view and help you arrive fully prepared.

    Philippines visit frequently asked questions

Do Indians need a visa to visit the Philippines?
Not always. Since 8 June 2025, Indian tourists can enter the Philippines visa-free for 14 days, and for 30 days if they hold a valid American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore, or United Kingdom visa or residence permit. For a longer stay you apply for the 9(a) Temporary Visitor e-Visa. Every traveller also registers on eTravel before arrival. An officer still decides entry. BestMigrationConsultant.com confirms which Philippines route fits your trip.
What is the 14-day visa-free entry for Indians?
Indian nationals can enter the Philippines without a visa for a non-extendible and non-convertible 14 days for tourism or business, under the policy effective from 8 June 2025. You need a passport valid at least six months beyond your stay, a confirmed hotel booking, proof of financial capacity, and a return or onward ticket. It cannot be extended or converted to another status. BestMigrationConsultant.com explains the 14-day visa-free rules for your Philippines visit.
What is the 30-day visa-free entry with an AJACSSUK visa?
Indian nationals who hold a valid and current American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore, or United Kingdom visa or residence permit can enter the Philippines visa-free for a non-extendible 30 days for tourism. These seven are known together as the AJACSSUK group. You need a passport valid six months beyond your stay and a return or onward ticket. The visa or permit must be valid when you travel. BestMigrationConsultant.com checks whether your existing visa qualifies you for the 30-day entry.
    What does AJACSSUK stand for?
AJACSSUK is a short way of naming the seven visas or residence permits that open up 30-day visa-free entry to the Philippines for Indians: American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore, and United Kingdom. If you hold a valid and current visa or residence permit from any one of these, you can enter for 30 days instead of 14. The document must be valid at the time you travel. BestMigrationConsultant.com confirms whether your visa qualifies for the Philippines 30-day entry.
What is eTravel and is it mandatory?
eTravel is the Philippines’ free online travel registration that every traveller must complete, and it replaced the old paper arrival and health declaration cards. You register on the official portal within 72 hours before arrival and receive a QR code to show before boarding and at the airport. It is not a visa and it is free, and it is a browser-based system with no official mobile app, so avoid fake apps. BestMigrationConsultant.com reminds you to complete eTravel for your Philippines visit.
Is the visa-free entry the same as a visa?
No. Visa-free entry is a privilege that lets you enter for a set number of days without applying for a visa, but it is non-extendible and non-convertible, so you cannot turn it into a longer stay once you arrive. eTravel is a separate free registration, not a visa. If you need longer than the visa-free days, you apply for the 9(a) e-Visa before you travel. BestMigrationConsultant.com explains the difference and the right route for your Philippines visit.
What is the 9(a) Temporary Visitor e-Visa?
The 9(a) Temporary Visitor e-Visa is an electronic visa for tourism or business, allowing a stay of up to 59 days per visit, applied for online at the official portal evisa.gov.ph. It comes as single entry, valid three months, or multiple entry, valid six months or one year. It is the route for stays longer than the visa-free days. It cannot be converted or extended locally. BestMigrationConsultant.com guides your Philippines 9(a) e-Visa application.
How much does a Philippines visit visa cost?
Visa-free entry has no visa fee, and eTravel registration is free. If you need the 9(a) e-Visa, the cost depends on your nationality and the entry type and includes a 25 US dollar convenience fee, commonly working out to a few thousand rupees for a single-entry tourist e-Visa. All fees are non-refundable. These figures can change, so confirm on the official portal before you apply. BestMigrationConsultant.com gives you a clear cost picture for your Philippines visit.
How long can I stay in the Philippines?
It depends on your route. Visa-free entry gives 14 days for all Indian tourists, or 30 days if you hold an AJACSSUK visa or permit, and neither can be extended. The 9(a) e-Visa gives up to 59 days per visit. To stay longer than the e-Visa allows, you would need a different visa through a Philippine Embassy. Overstaying is an offence. BestMigrationConsultant.com explains the stay limits and the right route for your Philippines visit.
Can I extend my stay in the Philippines?
The visa-free entries, both 14 and 30 days, are non-extendible, so you must leave before they end. The 9(a) e-Visa is also non-extendable and non-convertible locally. If you want a longer stay, you apply in advance for the right visa through a Philippine Embassy or Consulate, and longer in-country stays involve the Bureau of Immigration. Overstaying carries penalties. BestMigrationConsultant.com explains the right long-stay route for your Philippines visit.
What documents do I need for visa-free entry?
For the 14-day visa-free entry you need a passport valid at least six months beyond your stay, a confirmed hotel booking, proof of financial capacity, and a return or onward ticket, plus your eTravel QR code. For the 30-day AJACSSUK entry you need the passport, your valid AJACSSUK visa or permit, a return or onward ticket, and eTravel, with hotel and funds recommended. BestMigrationConsultant.com prepares and checks your full Philippines document set.
How long does the 9(a) e-Visa take to process?
The official processing time for the 9(a) e-Visa is about 7 to 12 working days for single entry and 15 to 21 working days for multiple entry, so applying two to three weeks ahead is sensible. Processing can be slower in busy periods or if extra documents are requested. These are estimates, not guarantees, and a submitted application does not always mean a visa is granted. BestMigrationConsultant.com helps you apply early so your Philippines e-Visa is ready in time.
Where do I apply for the Philippines 9(a) e-Visa?
You apply for the 9(a) e-Visa online at the official Philippine portal, evisa.gov.ph, where you create an account, complete the form, upload your documents, and pay the fee. India was the pilot country for the e-Visa system, so it is well established for Indian applicants. Avoid copycat websites that charge extra, and complete eTravel only after your e-Visa is approved. BestMigrationConsultant.com guides you through the official Philippines visa channels.
Can I get a visa on arrival in the Philippines?
No. The Philippines does not offer a visa on arrival to Indian travellers. You either enter under the visa-free privilege, 14 days for all or 30 days with an AJACSSUK visa, or you apply for the 9(a) e-Visa before you travel. In all cases you must complete eTravel before arrival. Arranging your route in advance is essential. BestMigrationConsultant.com confirms the correct entry route for your Philippines trip.
Can I visit the Philippines for business?
Yes. The 14-day visa-free entry covers business purposes such as meetings, and the 9(a) e-Visa also covers business, conferences, and workshops, but neither allows paid employment in the Philippines, which needs a work visa such as the 9(g). A letter from your employer and an invitation from the host company strengthen your file. The 30-day AJACSSUK entry is for tourism. BestMigrationConsultant.com prepares strong business visitor files for your Philippines visit.
Can I visit the Philippines as a tourist?
Yes. Tourism is covered by all the visit routes, so you can enjoy Boracay, Palawan, Cebu, Bohol, and Manila. You choose the route that fits your length of stay, complete the free eTravel registration before arrival, and carry your return ticket, hotel booking, and funds. For a trip longer than the visa-free days you apply for the 9(a) e-Visa. BestMigrationConsultant.com helps you plan a smooth tourist visit to the Philippines.
What is the AJACSSUK visa rule exactly?
The visa or residence permit from the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, the Schengen Area, Singapore, or the United Kingdom must be valid and current at the time you travel to the Philippines. A Schengen visa from any of the Schengen member states qualifies. The 30-day entry is for tourism and cannot be extended. If your AJACSSUK visa is expired, you fall back to the 14-day entry or apply for the e-Visa. BestMigrationConsultant.com checks your documents against the AJACSSUK rule.
Can I bring my child to the Philippines?
Yes. Each child, including infants, needs their own passport valid at least six months beyond the stay and their own eTravel registration, since each traveller registers separately. Under visa-free entry the child is covered for tourism, and if you apply for the 9(a) e-Visa each child needs their own application and fee. You carry the child’s documents and proof of the relationship. BestMigrationConsultant.com helps families prepare correctly for a Philippines visit.
What should I do before I travel to the Philippines?
Before you fly, confirm your route, the 14-day or 30-day visa-free entry or the 9(a) e-Visa, check your passport has at least six months validity beyond your stay, and register free on eTravel within 72 hours before arrival. Carry a confirmed return ticket, hotel booking, funds, and your AJACSSUK visa if relying on the 30-day tier. Use only official websites. BestMigrationConsultant.com gives you a pre-travel checklist so your Philippines visit goes smoothly.
What are common reasons for being refused entry to the Philippines?
Common reasons include a passport with less than six months validity, no confirmed return or onward ticket, no hotel booking or proof of funds for the 14-day entry, an expired AJACSSUK visa when relying on the 30-day entry, no eTravel registration, or a derogatory record with the Bureau of Immigration. Intending to work on a visit is another reason. Many issues can be avoided with the right preparation. BestMigrationConsultant.com reviews your file to reduce the risk of being refused entry.
