Family and friends visit

If a host is covering costs, their financial documents help. The invitation supports your file but your own funds and ties to India still matter most.
Private medical treatment
A medical visit is for private treatment at a UK hospital or clinic. Show a letter from the UK doctor or hospital with the diagnosis, treatment plan, and cost estimate, proof you can pay, and your plan to return home. Medical visits can be granted for up to eleven months in some cases.
Child or dependant
A child or dependant applies for their own Standard Visitor visa, often with a parent. Include documents that show the family relationship, such as a birth certificate, and parental consent where a minor travels with one parent or alone. The fee is the same as for adults, with no reduced rate for children.

What to do once you are in the UK
A visit visa lets you do more than sightsee, within clear limits. Here is what you can and cannot do as a visitor.
You can
